DotWrite21 Prompt: Week 18

How will you see and think about the the world newly when it is once again free to be engaged with?

This week’s prompt comes from Logan Buckley, a 1st year writer in the UMass Boston MFA program for Creative Writing. Logan writes:

Many are living sheltered lives as a result of quarantining from Covid-19. The more people who get vaccinated, the better chance we all have to return to some semblance of “normal” life. This will mean seeing people and places – outside of our inner circles – for the first time in a year or more.  While we often take for granted life’s ordinary and extraordinary details amid the hustle and grind of daily life, how will you see and think about the the world newly when it is once again free to be engaged with? How might your perspective shift?

Imagine reencountering a person, place, or object that you have not seen since before the pandemic. Describe your reunion using all 5 senses. What unique perspective or insight can you give a reader with your descriptions and intuitions?

As always, Write on the DOT invites anyone who participates in the #DotWrite21 prompts to share their work. Tag us on social media, or email us at dotreadingseries@gmail.com for the chance to be featured on our blog.
